    Key Responsibilities
    • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercise, endurance/cardiac training, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, muscle lengthening, pain relief, and functional skills training
    • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding techniques and safety awareness
    • Apply and demonstrate therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, iontophoresis, hot/cold packs, whirlpools, paraffin bath, fluidotherapy, and TENS units
    • Monitor patient response to treatment and intervene as necessary; document patient progress, response to treatment, and patient/family education
    • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safe patient handling practices, and facility safety policies
    • Participate in team conferences and collaborate with other healthcare disciplines regarding therapy administered and projected treatment goals
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Florida
    • Ability to implement and carry out treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
    • Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and assistive/adaptive equipment
    • Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and infection control protocols
    • Strong documentation skills and adherence to facility policies and procedures
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
    • Familiarity with community re-entry training and functional skills training
    • Experience instructing patients and families in home exercise programs and body mechanics
