    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist.
    • Administer rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
    • Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly in the clinical record.
    • Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per all applicable requirements.
    • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders.
    • Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, as well as required trainings and in-services.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license.
    • Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience required; new graduates considered if Level II clinical experience has been completed (Level I observation experience alone does not qualify).
    • Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
    • Adherence to APTA standards and Massachusetts state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience supervising or supporting PTA students under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
    • Familiarity with DME procurement processes and clinical documentation systems.
