Key Responsibilities
- Administer physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist
- Ensure all treatment is delivered in accordance with an established plan of care
- Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapy-related activities
- Monitor and document patient response to treatment interventions
- Record treatments provided and note patient progress accurately in medical records
- Complete required forms and documentation in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Certification via the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the FSBPT
- Active and valid state PTA licensure
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and therapeutic exercises
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Demonstrated empathy and patience when working with a diverse patient population
- Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary therapy team
