Key Responsibilities
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist
- Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions to residents in a skilled nursing setting
- Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes in status to the supervising PT
- Educate patients and family members on home exercise programs and safe functional techniques
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient care goals
Required Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Virginia
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to work effectively in a skilled nursing facility environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
- Familiarity with Medicare documentation requirements and therapy productivity standards
- Experience with restorative and rehabilitative therapy techniques for geriatric populations
