The physical therapist is responsible for the services provided by the PTA. Physical therapists examine individuals and develop a treatment plan to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. PTAs cannot attempt to practice physical therapy that has not been initiated, supervised, and terminated by a licensed physical therapist.
