Key Responsibilities
Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist
Administer rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly
Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements
Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings as required
Provide consultation and education to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders
Required Qualifications
Active Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license
Minimum of 1 year of PTA experience
Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience
Adherence to APTA standards, state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working with Medicare A, Medicare B, and Managed Care patient populations
Familiarity with productivity standards in a long term care or skilled nursing environment
Experience supervising or supporting PTA students under Physical Therapist guidance
