Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of physical therapy services including therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and patient transportation as outlined by the treatment plan and in accordance with state practice guidelines
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening, endurance, balance, coordination, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices; demonstrate proper guarding techniques and safety awareness
• Administer therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, hot/cold packs, whirlpool, paraffin bath, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and others as directed
• Monitor and document patient progress, response to treatment, and family/caregiver education on a weekly basis
• Participate in team conferences, continuing education, and in-service education for peers and other healthcare professionals

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or eligibility to practice in the state of Indiana
• Knowledge of and ability to apply state practice guidelines for physical therapy assistants
• Ability to implement PT treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Commitment to patient and employee safety standards, including safe patient handling and infection control protocols

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with a broad range of therapeutic modalities and assistive devices
• Experience documenting patient progress and participating in interdisciplinary team conferences
• Background in caregiver and family education related to mobility, transfers, positioning, and exercise
