Key Responsibilities
Evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy treatments to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing
Deliver all treatment in accordance with an established plan of care as delegated and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist
Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapy-related activities
Monitor and document patient response to treatment interventions
Complete required forms and documentation in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations
Required Qualifications
Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)
Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
Ability to follow treatment plans and instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and therapeutic exercises
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
Demonstrated empathy and patience when working with a diverse patient population
