Key Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist
• Administer rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly in the clinical record
• Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders
• Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, and support student supervision under the guidance of the Physical Therapist

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
• Long Term Care or Rehabilitation setting experience required
• Active Texas PTA License required
• Adherence to APTA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with Medicare A, Medicare B, and Managed Care patient populations
• Familiarity with electronic documentation systems in a clinical setting
• Experience participating in or facilitating group therapy sessions
