Key Responsibilities
Provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist
Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing
Ensure all treatment is delivered in accordance with an established plan of care
Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and home programs
Monitor and document patient response to treatment interventions
Complete required forms and documentation in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations
Required Qualifications
Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)
Valid state licensure or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Texas
Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and therapeutic exercises
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience working in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment
Demonstrated empathy and patience when working with elderly or medically complex patients
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team
