    Key Responsibilities
    • Administer physical therapy treatments and physical agents as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist following patient evaluation.
    • Assist in restoring patient functioning and preventing disability following injury, disease, or physical disability across a diverse patient population including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
    • Support patients in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning within the limits of their capabilities.
    • Participate in operational aspects of the department including performance improvement activities.
    • Participate in infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational training, and fire safety programs.
    Required Qualifications
    • Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy assistant education program (typically a 2-year degree).
    • Must be licensed in good standing in Alaska as a Physical Therapist Assistant, or have all appropriate FSBPT paperwork completed to work as a Student Physical Therapist Assistant post-graduation while studying for licensure.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior clinical experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant is preferred, though not required.
    • Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, and clinical pathology as applied in a clinical setting.
