Job Summary (List Format) Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA):
- Provides skilled physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) setting.
- Implements treatment plans to improve residents mobility, strength, balance, and functional abilities.
- Delivers direct therapy services such as therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance activities.
- Observes and reports resident responses and progress to the supervising PT.
- Assists with resident assessments and contributes to documentation and care planning.
- Educates residents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and safety techniques for use outside therapy sessions.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
- Ensures proper use and maintenance of therapy equipment and assistive devices.
- Participates in team meetings and collaborates with interdisciplinary staff for coordinated resident care.
- Adheres to all regulatory, professional, and facility standards, and maintains required licensure and continuing education.
- Works primarily in a SNF/long-term care setting, requiring physical activity such as standing, lifting, and assisting residents.
- Functions as part of a collaborative, fast-paced interdisciplinary team.
