Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant will work in an acute care environment.
The facility is a Level IV Trauma Center and Chest Pain Center.
The unit has a capacity of 25 beds.
The average daily patient census is 25, with each therapist managing 7-8 patients per day.
The patient population is primarily geriatric.
Common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, hip fractures, total joint replacements, CABG, strokes, Parkinson's disease, medically complex cases, debility, respiratory failure, and post-surgical conditions.
The role involves supporting patients through rehabilitation activities, ensuring safe transfers, and implementing therapeutic exercises.
The Physical Therapist Assistant will document patient progress thoroughly and collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
Technological support includes electronic medical records systems and various therapeutic equipment.
No floating to other units is expected.
