Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of a Physical Therapist
  • Administer treatment procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
  • Assess patient progress and communicate with the supervising Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans accordingly in the clinical record
  • Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required facility trainings
  • Adhere to APTA standards and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics throughout professional practice
Required Qualifications
  • Active Massachusetts PTA License required
  • Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
  • Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Familiarity with Medicare A, Medicare B, and Managed Care treatment protocols
  • Experience working with productivity standards in a therapy setting
  • Ability to supervise and support therapy students under the guidance of a Physical Therapist
