Job Summary (Physical Therapist Assistant - PTA):
- Provide skilled physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in a skilled nursing facility (SNF).
- Implement treatment plans to improve residents mobility, strength, balance, and functional ability.
- Deliver direct therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance activities.
- Monitor and report residents responses to interventions and changes in condition to the supervising PT.
- Assist with resident assessments, documentation, and care planning as needed.
- Educate residents and caregivers on exercises and safety techniques for use outside therapy sessions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of therapy equipment and assistive devices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated resident care.
- Adhere to all applicable state, federal, and facility regulations and professional standards.
- Maintain ethical standards, licensure, and continuing education requirements.
- Work in a collaborative, fast-paced SNF/long-term care environment that requires physical activity such as standing, lifting, and assisting residents with mobility.
