Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant Profession: PTA Specialty: Inpatient/Outpatient Physical Therapy Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Texas and national license Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Wound care experience preferred but not required. Inpatient/Outpatient experience. Description: Profiles are sent directly for consideration. Candidates may not have been directly employed by any associated facilities within the past year. Candidates who were employed through outside firms will be considered. Call outs are strongly discouraged and could lead to termination. May be asked to precept as needed by the unit. Unit treats a combination of inpatient and outpatient patients based on census or preference. Expected to treat 7 patients per day with a combination of inpatient (80%) and outpatient (20%) cases. General types of patients include those with general conditions, wounds, orthopedic issues, neurological cases, and debility. Critical access care includes various diagnoses supported by a team of physical therapists. Support staff includes 2-3 PTAs and 1 technician. General conditions treated may include fractures, orthopedic injuries, neck pain, and a small percentage of neurological and amputation cases. Unit has experienced full-time physical therapists who will support treatment and case management as needed. Additional cases requiring specialized care may be referred to sister facilities. Shifts are Monday to Friday with no weekend or call requirements. Scrub color is maroon. Department specific orientation is provided. A supportive nursing and therapy staff is present. Holiday requirements may include rotation with staffing.
