Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Therapy Specialty: Physical Therapy Duration: Part-Time Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 7.5 Experience: Preferred experience in educational or pediatric settings License: Current Physical Therapy License Certifications: None specified Must-Have: Master's or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program Description: The Physical Therapist evaluates and provides therapeutic services to students with physical disabilities or mobility challenges. The PT works collaboratively with educators, families, and related service providers to support students' access to the curriculum and participation in school activities. Services are delivered in accordance with IDEA, IEP requirements, and state regulations. Conduct physical therapy evaluations and assessments for students referred for services. Develop and implement therapy goals aligned with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate therapy documentation. Participate in meetings and contribute to goal development and progress reporting. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and families. Recommend adaptive equipment, positioning devices, and mobility supports. Train school staff on safe transfers, positioning, mobility, and use of adaptive equipment. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements. Support student participation in classroom, school, and extracurricular activities. Qualifications: Master's or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Current Physical Therapy License. Experience working with children with disabilities in educational or pediatric settings preferred. Knowledge of IDEA, special education procedures, and IEP processes. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Commitment to the mission of educational equity and student success. Preferred Skills: Pediatric physical therapy experience. Knowledge of adaptive equipment and assistive technology. Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams. Strong assessment and progress-monitoring skills. Family engagement and coaching abilities. Ability to support inclusive educational environments. Typical Duties: Evaluate student motor development and functional skills. Create therapy plans to improve mobility, balance, strength, coordination, and independence. Consult with teachers regarding accommodations and classroom accessibility. Document services and maintain compliance records. Provide recommendations for transportation, playground access, seating, and mobility equipment.
