    Physical Therapist – Inpatient (Travel Contract)

    Rio Rancho, NM

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | 5x8 Hours (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM) | Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday | 40 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide inpatient physical therapy evaluations and treatments for an adult, adolescent, and geriatric patient population
    • Manage approximately 8 patient cases per day across a variety of diagnoses including falls, CVA, trauma, orthopedic conditions, TKA, THA, ORIF, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
    • Conduct same-day discharge evaluations for total joint patients, with last evaluations beginning at 5:00 PM
    • Develop and implement individualized home exercise programs and provide patient and family education
    • Complete clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner using Cerner
    • Fulfill weekend shift requirements of 2 shifts per month
    Required Qualifications
    • Active New Mexico Physical Therapist license (may be pending at time of submission)
    • Current BLS certification (RQI certifications not accepted)
    • Minimum 1–2 years of acute inpatient physical therapy experience
    • Proficiency in acute care settings; first-time travelers accepted with verified acute inpatient experience
    • COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation
    • Must reside more than 100 miles from facility (non-local travel position); non-local driver's license required on file
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing facility settings
    • Clinical background treating neurological conditions including Parkinson's disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury
    • Familiarity with orthopedic diagnoses including total hip and knee replacement, spinal conditions, and post-operative cervical or shoulder repair
    • Experience with cognitive disorders and spinal cord injury rehabilitation
