    Physical Therapist – Inpatient (Travel Contract)

    Rio Rancho, NM

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | 5x8-Hour Shifts (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM) | Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday | 40 Hours/Week Guaranteed

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide inpatient physical therapy evaluations and treatments for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patient populations
    • Manage approximately 8 patient cases per day across a variety of diagnoses including falls, CVA, trauma, TKA, THA, ORIF, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and respiratory or organ failure
    • Conduct same-day discharge evaluations for total joint patients, with last evaluations beginning at 5:00 PM
    • Develop and implement individualized home exercise programs and provide patient and family education
    • Complete clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner using Cerner
    • Fulfill weekend shift requirements of 2 weekend shifts per month
    Required Qualifications
    • Active New Mexico Physical Therapist license (license may be pending at time of submission)
    • Current BLS certification (RQI certifications not accepted)
    • Minimum 1–2 years of acute inpatient experience; first-time travelers accepted with qualifying acute inpatient background
    • Proficiency with Cerner electronic health record system
    • Must reside more than 100 miles from facility (non-local travelers only; non-local driver's license required on file)
    • COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience across multiple care settings including outpatient clinic, rehabilitation hospital, and skilled nursing facility
    • Clinical experience with neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, and traumatic brain injury
    • Familiarity with orthopedic post-operative care including total hip and knee replacement, post-op spinal and cervical surgery, and ORIF
    • Experience treating cognitive disorders and spinal conditions including low back pain and cervicalgia
