Key Responsibilities
Perform patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans and goals to maximize functional outcomes across inpatient and outpatient settings
Deliver physical therapy services to a combined inpatient and outpatient caseload, targeting approximately 7 treatment hours per day with a productivity expectation of 24 units in an 8-hour day
Treat a variety of diagnoses including general orthopedic injuries, fractures, neurological conditions, wound care, debility, and amputations within a critical access hospital setting
Float between inpatient (acute, observation, skilled nursing) and outpatient services within the same facility under a single hospital license
Actively participate in discharge planning, reassess treatment outcomes, and adjust plans of care as needed
Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team including nursing staff, therapy aides, and other healthcare professionals; may be asked to precept as needed
Required Qualifications
Active Texas state Physical Therapy license and current national PT license required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Minimum of six months of clinical PT experience (new graduates with at least six months of experience will be considered)
Experience in both inpatient and outpatient physical therapy settings
Commitment to professional and ethical practice standards in accordance with state guidelines
Preferred Experience / Skills
Wound care experience is preferred
Experience with skilled nursing facility (SNF) patient populations including general, orthopedic, neurological, and wound care diagnoses
Familiarity with documentation systems used in critical access or acute care hospital environments
