Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
Design functional treatment programs focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay and facilitating effective return to community activities
Delegate and direct all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients
Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations as assigned
Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements; actively pursue professional development through continuing education and professional organization involvement
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida
Ability to perform 60-minute evaluations and treatments in an outpatient setting
Proficiency in clinical documentation, goal writing, and compliance with state and federal guidelines
Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and ethical standards
Completion of all state-mandated continuing education requirements to maintain licensure in good standing
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students
Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality initiatives
