    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | Days | Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM with alternating weekends; compensatory day provided during the week for any weekend days worked

    Key Responsibilities
    • Perform inpatient physical therapy evaluations at a Level III trauma center, with an expectation of one completed evaluation per hour
    • Provide daily treatments across a variety of acute care populations including telemetry, orthopedics, surgical, critical care, neurology, oncology, and general medical patients; expectation of 10 completed treatments per 8-hour shift when performing daily treatments
    • Document patient care accurately using the facility's EMR system (Meditech)
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PTAs and rehab technicians
    • Provide coverage at a secondary acute care location on a minimal, as-needed basis
    • May be asked to precept students or new staff as needed by the unit
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of Texas or eligibility to obtain
    • Experience or strong clinical background in adult acute care settings, including trauma and critical care
    • Ability to work alternating weekends as part of the standard schedule
    • Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by this health system within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a Level III trauma center or similar high-acuity inpatient environment
    • Familiarity with Meditech EMR
    • Experience working alongside PTAs and rehab technicians in a team-based care model
    • New graduates with a strong adult acute clinical background, including trauma and critical care, will be considered
