Key Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist

• Evaluate new patients and set objective, measurable treatment goals for functional outcomes
• Administer diagnostic tests to determine patient impairment and prognosis for improvement
• Carry out treatment modalities and re-evaluate patient as needed
• Provide analytic documentation of patient care and education
• Communicate with medical/allied health personnel regarding patient progress and care
• Provide instruction in therapeutic procedures for patient and family use
• Assist in training new personnel and guide Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides
• Maintain departmental policies, quality assessment, and safety standards
• Participate in professional growth and development activities
• Maintain statistical records of patient activity and charges

Requirements of the Physical Therapist

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Current BLS certification
