Travel Physical Therapist (PT) - $2,838 per week in Midland, MI

Provides skilled restorative treatments for pain reduction, develops, restores, and maintains functions, including treatments using moist heat, whirlpool, paraffin baths, gait training, and ultrasound. Conducts tests and measurements for range of motion using a goniometer and instructs, establishes, and supervises exercise programs, prosthetic training, balance, coordination training, and cardiovascular rehab, including home safety instruction.

License: Currently licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state and in good standing with the Board. Certifications: Current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license are required. Must-Have: - Knowledge of principles, concepts, and methodology of physical therapy appropriate for terminally ill patients. - Demonstrates problem-solving and decision-making abilities. - Ability to manage patient care with specific knowledge and experience in bedside nursing, symptom management, crisis intervention, and family intervention. - Excellent communication skills. - Ability to develop and maintain rapport with patients, families, and staff. Description: The Physical Therapist reports to the Director of Professional Services. This role is responsible for providing medically prescribed, goal-oriented therapy in accordance with the Physician Plan of Care, company policies, and professional standards of practice. Participates in the development of patient physical therapy plans of care. Makes visits to patients for assessments and evaluations and communicates with the physician before the start of care as needed. Implements the plan of care. Documents care and submits paperwork in an accurate and timely manner to update and maintain patient medical records. Provides education and instruction to team members, patients, and their families. May participate in agency quality assessment performance improvement programs. Accepts other assignments deemed appropriate. Ensures growth and profitability through the responsible use of company resources and community education about services. Participates in regularly scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate the care of the patient and family, exchange information, problem-solve, and receive staff support and education. Applies the policies and procedures of the agency and regulations of federal and state regulatory agencies in providing care. Directs and supervises the Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Nursing Aide, and Home Health Aide in care provided to patients. Provides supervisory visits as necessary. Willingly accepts direction from the Director of Professional Services, Patient Care Coordinator, or Rehabilitation Supervisor.
