Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist- Evaluate new patients, set measurable goals, and document treatment plans
- Administer diagnostic tests to assess patient impairments and prognoses
- Perform treatments, fabricate adaptive equipment, and adjust therapy techniques
- Provide documentation of patient care, education, and communication
- Effectively communicate with healthcare personnel on patient progress and planning
- Instruct patients and families in therapeutic procedures
- Maintain therapy equipment and supplies, processing purchase requests
- Guide Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, Aides, and students
- Adhere to policies and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in clinical instruction and professional development opportunities
- Maintain records of patient activity and charges
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist- Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current BLS certification
