Key Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist

• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to assess patients' physical and cognitive abilities.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Ensure adherence to documentation policies, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in patient care conferences and provide education to patients and families.
• Supervise and coordinate student and volunteer programs within the department.
• Assist with orientation, scheduling of patients, and staff supervision.
• Advocate for performance improvement activities and maintain departmental productivity standards.
• Enhance community knowledge and make appropriate referrals when needed.
• Provide educational opportunities and engage in relevant research activities.
• Adapt patient care methods to meet individual needs effectively.

Requirements of the Physical Therapist

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current New Mexico Physical Therapist Licensure.
• BLS certification via AHA is required.
