Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently manage a full patient caseload across assigned care settings, which may include Inpatient Rehab, Acute Care, Outpatient, or Skilled Nursing
  • Evaluate and treat patients with diagnoses including spinal cord injuries, TBI, strokes, amputations, multiple trauma, hip fractures, joint replacements, post-cardiac surgery, post-COVID, and medically complex conditions
  • Provide outpatient PT services for general orthopedic (surgical and non-surgical), sports medicine, pediatric developmental, neurological, and spinal conditions as applicable
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including supervising therapists, an assistant director, and peer therapists
  • Document patient care accurately using EMR systems (Meditech Expanse for Inpatient/Acute, Wellsky for Outpatient, transitioning to Meditech Expanse for Skilled Nursing)
  • Complete general hospital orientation as well as departmental and site-specific orientation (approximately 2-3 days), with an expected full caseload by end of the first week
Required Qualifications
  • Current, active Louisiana Physical Therapist (PT) license required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the specialty
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a patient caseload
  • Experience working with the patient types and diagnoses listed above
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior travel therapy experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered depending on experience and skillset
  • Familiarity with Meditech Expanse and/or Wellsky EMR platforms
  • Experience across multiple care settings (inpatient rehab, acute care, outpatient, and/or skilled nursing)
