Job Opportunity – Physical Therapist, Acute Care – Chewelah, WA 99109

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Chewelah, Washington

Schedule: Day shift, 3x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:00), approximately 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE). Flexible scheduling options include Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Friday. No weekends or on-call required. Assignment duration is 13 weeks.

Highlights:
  • Work in a 23-bed critical access hospital serving a rural community with lower acuity inpatient populations
  • Manageable patient ratios of 1:5-10 with an average daily census of 5 patients
  • Collaborative interdisciplinary team including PT, OT, SLP, and comprehensive support services
  • Epic charting system with 20 hours of paid orientation
  • Opportunity to work with diverse patient diagnoses including orthopedic, neurological, and general deconditioning cases
  • May have the opportunity to float to other facilities in the region based on census needs and therapist capabilities
Requirements:
  • Active Washington state Physical Therapy license (Compact license accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Must provide 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
  • Clean background check required (facility does not accept Nursys or background hits)
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
