Description:
This position involves implementing patient rehabilitation programs to improve patient mobility, function, and strength.
The physical therapist evaluates and treats patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs.
Responsibilities include utilizing electronic medical records to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries for patient files.
The physical therapist guides and monitors patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up.
Supervision of physical therapy assistants and aides regarding all aspects of patient care is expected.
Effective communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals is essential to ensure quality patient care.
Accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations are required.
The physical therapist ensures patient comfort and addresses questions when necessary.
Collaboration with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up is necessary.
Computer skills are needed to complete job requirements such as typing, using word processing software, and electronic medical records.
The physical therapist must make independent decisions regarding patient care when necessary.
Involvement in business marketing and referral processes may be required.
Adherence to patient privacy policies and procedures according to federal and state laws is expected.
Understanding of billing policies and procedures, including coding for services, is important.
Physical demands include the ability to be mobile, including sitting, walking, and standing for 8-10 hours a day.
Lifting 50 pounds and assisting patients with mobility restraints and transfers are part of the job.
This position works in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.
Expected to actively participate in training related to privacy policies.
