Key Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist- Assess clients' needs and develop therapy plans to meet identified needs
- Administer and perform therapeutic interventions with clients
- Maintain clients' self-esteem, privacy, and confidentiality of personal information
- Provide clients with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their care plans
- Notify physician of changes and process orders
- Document observations and services provided
- Provide direct consultation with physician and/or interdisciplinary team members
- Provide training on programs, adaptive equipment, and other interventions
- Utilize and supervise therapy assistants as outlined by Federal and State regulations
- Follow infection control and safety standards when using equipment
Requirements of the Physical Therapist- Completion of an accredited physical therapy program
- National registration and licensure for the state of practice, if required
- Prior work experience as a therapist in a clinical setting helpful
- At least 18 years of age
- BLS Certification
