Description: Evaluate and treat patients through an individualized program of physical therapy. Treatment includes the assessment, planning, implementation, and communication related to a patient’s progress. Provide direct patient care within the assigned area of the hospital. Evaluate needs and track outcomes or progress. Consult with others as needed. Document progress and discharge summaries of patients according to department policy. Track statistics and maintain treatment records according to department policy. Work with members of the therapy team to coordinate therapeutic services for individual patients. Practice established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Work with family members to ensure they can support therapy outside of the hospital to the extent needed. Design services and procedures to meet the needs of the infant, pediatric, and adolescent patient population. Perform other duties as requested.
