Key Responsibilities

  • Perform initial evaluations and comprehensive, age-appropriate patient assessments to determine deficits and establish realistic rehabilitation plans of care
  • Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans; evaluate treatment effects and adjust approaches to maximize patient benefit
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, plans of care, and physician correspondence accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality of patient records
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment procedures, mobility skills, and health maintenance to support continuity of care beyond the clinical setting
  • Supervise and provide direction to physical therapist assistants and therapy technicians; collaborate with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to coordinate care
  • Participate in continuing education, CQI activities, and student mentorship to maintain clinical competencies and support professional development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy program
  • Active North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy license required at time of submission
  • Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
  • Prior travel assignment experience required
  • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
  • Experience supervising physical therapist assistants or therapy support staff
  • Background in patient and family education within an inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation setting
