Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of outpatient experience for a day-shift assignment.

Details

  • Outpatient PT clinic setting
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Treats patients referred by physicians or through direct access
  • Works with injured worker populations, including Return to Work and post offer testing programs
  • Performs Work Hardening Evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, and ergonomic or job analysis assessments
  • Utilizes various modalities and exercise equipment available in the clinic

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an outpatient setting required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • NM state license required before start; license required if applicable
  • Experience with charting systems required
  • Skills in assessment, body mechanics, and orthopedic and neurologic patient care preferred
  • Experience with home exercise programs and patient/family education preferred

  • Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, supervising physical therapy assistants, and directing PT technicians on cleaning and organizational tasks
  • Provides weekly updates to rehab nurses and maintains ongoing communication with referring physicians through evaluation and progress notes
  • May assist with scheduling, answering phones, and processing referrals as needed
  • Understanding of billing codes for various payer types required
  • Opportunities to participate in community outreach and business development activities representing the clinic
  • Open to first-time travelers
