Job Summary:
Physical Therapist Inpatient position located in Asheville, North Carolina. This role involves providing skilled therapeutic care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, utilizing specialized equipment and protocols to enhance patient recovery. The position is dedicated to a rehab facility with a focus on patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, orthopedic, cardiac, spinal cord injury, pulmonary, and debility conditions.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum degree, current licensure to practice in North Carolina, three years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation preferred; proficiency in safe patient handling techniques; familiarity with protocols to prevent complications such as autonomic dysreflexia, bowel/bladder programs, skin integrity and wound prevention; experience with wheelchairs, prosthetics, orthotics, and adaptive equipment; excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration; good time management and critical thinking skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with inpatient rehab hospitals, knowledge of relevant medical conditions, experience with electronic medical records documentation and compliance, team conference/interdisciplinary communication, family training, and DME recommendations.
- Additional Information: The unit features specialized equipment such as Sara stedy, Sara plus, Hoyer, Viking, sliding boards, and more. Documentation is managed via Meditech and RehabConnect systems. The position is not a float but is dedicated to the rehab facility, with unit-specific policies and guidelines. The hospital is YCVA certified and participates in active student rotations.
