Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Home Health assignment, requiring current home health experience and a Michigan PT license.

Details

  • Home health setting covering Van Buren, Calhoun, and Kalamazoo Counties
  • Full-time day shift, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
  • Weekend rotation required approximately every 4-6 weeks
  • No call requirement
  • No floating requirement
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Current Michigan PT license required (if applicable)
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Home health experience required
  • Valid Michigan driver's license required
  • Must have daily access to a vehicle for business use
  • Proof of auto insurance required
  • Proof of flu vaccination required, with exemption requests submitted within 48 hours of signing
  • Supervisor-level references required

Additional Information

  • Evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy treatment for patients with injuries or musculoskeletal, nerve, or joint conditions
  • Conduct standardized assessments to establish functional baselines and track progress
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team discussions and rounds
  • Provide patient, family, and community education
  • May design and fabricate splints or other assistive devices
  • Contribute to program development and department process improvement
  • May cross-train and provide coverage in other Rehabilitation Services departments as needed
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress in the electronic health record per compliance timelines
  • Complete non-billable orientation and annual training modules (8 hours, self-reported)
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
  • Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months; former permanent staff may return after 1 year
  • Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments when needed
  • RTO limited to no more than 10 days
