Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring 1+ year of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute Care Hospital unit
• Patient ratio of 1:7-9
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, with variable start times (10:00a-6:30p or 10:30a-7:00p weekdays, 9:00a-5:30p weekends)
• Prefers Tuesday-Saturday schedule; open to 4x10 Wednesday-Saturday schedule
• At least one weekend shift required per week
• May float to other Health First hospitals as needed
• Availability required during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's weeks, though not on the holidays themselves
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Active Florida PT license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
• Experience with orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary patient populations
• Skilled in patient assessment, documentation, and use of assistive/adaptive devices
• Two supervisory references (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the past year required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required 10/31-3/31, medical or religious exemptions only

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning across a variety of orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary conditions
• Works with adult and geriatric populations including post-op, stroke, and cardiopulmonary patients
• Utilizes equipment such as Hoyer lifts, gait belts, walkers, and specialty beds
• Scrub attire of any color accepted, with matching tops and bottoms and no logos or prints
• First-time travelers accepted if they have acute care experience
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers with no radius restriction
• Former Health First employees or contracted staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Finalized RTO must be submitted with initial application and cannot be added after offer
