Description

American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience to treat patients across multiple acute care units in a hospital setting.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting including PT Inpatient Rehab unit
• Evaluate and treat patients in ED, ortho/spine unit, rehab unit, tele unit, and med-surg unit
• Day shift, 5x8 hours, 8:00am-4:30pm or 7:00am-3:30pm
• 3 weekend days required per 6-week schedule
• May float to like units within scope as needed based on facility needs
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• BLS certification required
• Kansas PT license required if applicable
• Experience with acute care and rehabilitation hospital settings preferred
• Skilled in adaptive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, gait training, and assistive devices
• Experience with equipment such as Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand lifts, gait belts, and specialty beds preferred
• Experience treating orthopedic and neurologic patient populations, including post-stroke, spinal cord injury, and joint replacement cases preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, evaluation, documentation, discharge planning, and development of short and long-term goals
• Provides home exercise programs and patient/family education
• Brief orientation provided for any floating assignments
• Open to first-time travelers
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Former staff must have separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
