Key Responsibilities
- Serve in a lead capacity within the pharmacy department, overseeing day-to-day technician operations
- Mix and prepare chemotherapy medications in accordance with established safety and compliance protocols
- Dispense medications utilizing the Pyxis automated dispensing system
- Ensure accurate and timely medication preparation and distribution
- Maintain compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations and facility standards
- Float within the health system as operationally needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of pharmacy technician experience
- Demonstrated training and competency in mixing chemotherapy medications
- Active certification through NHA (National Healthcareer Association) or PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board)
- Active or pending Washington State Pharmacy Technician license (proof of application required at time of submission; active license not required at submission; start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks for licensure processing)
- Two professional references from the past 2 years, with at least one from a supervisor
- Candidate must secure independent housing on San Juan Island
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Epic electronic health records system
- Prior travel pharmacy technician experience
- Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems
