Key Responsibilities

• Compounds and/or prepares medications including sterile products, oral, topical, controlled substances, and high-risk medication processes under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist
• Delivers and exchanges medications to patient areas and returns unused medications to the pharmacy
• Documents pharmaceutical activities including patient billing, quality control requirements, and other records using automated and paper systems
• Operates and supports automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications per pharmacist and physician orders
• Orders, receives, restocks, and rotates inventory and completes expiration date management
• Completes regulatory compliance inspections of medication storage areas including controlled substance inventories and USP 797 and other required regulatory documentation

Required Qualifications

• Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy (unless enrolled in a PharmD program)
• CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA (unless enrolled in a PharmD program)
• Recent pharmacy technician experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior pharmacy technician experience in an inpatient or hospital setting
• Completion of an academic pharmacy technician training program
