    Opportunity:

    Outpatient Pharmacy Tech 3

    Job Details:

    • Provide technical support to pharmacists through preparation of unit doses, data entry, medication delivery, and cartfill exchange
    • Work under direct supervision of a Pharmacist responsible for safe and proper distribution and use of drugs
    • Serve patients ranging in age from neonates and infants to elderly adults over 65 years old
    • Minimum 3 years of experience required, including 1-3 years of mixing experience
    • Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician license required
    • Required certification: CPhT
    • Epic experience required
    • Ensure accountability and accuracy of standard operating procedures
    • Perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations
    • Apply aseptic technique and sterilize laminar or horizontal flow hoods
    • Prepare IV mixtures and chemotherapy compounds, both sterile and non-sterile products
    • Safely handle and document controlled substances and hazardous medications per regulatory guidelines
    • Maintain automation dispensing cabinets (Omnicell) and stock to accommodate patient needs
    • Manipulate dosage form devices including syringes and unit dose packaging
    • Prevent and report medication errors
    • Must be able to stand, walk, push or pull delivery carts, bend, and reach for 6-8 continuous hours per day
    • Demonstrate knowledge of generic and brand names of pharmaceuticals, look-alike/sound-alike drugs, and routes of administration
    • Community hospital experience preferred
    • Formal pharmacy technician training program preferred
    • Inpatient and outpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred
