Contract | Onsite | Days/Evenings/Swing Shifts Available (5x8-hour shifts) | 7-day coverage preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Attend Code Blues including traumatic arrests, provide necessary medications, and document participation
- Attend Rapid Sequence Intubations throughout the hospital and provide required medications
- Attend Code Strokes, review patient profiles, make treatment recommendations, and mix fibrinolytics when warranted
- Attend Code Sepsis events, review patient profiles, make antibiotic recommendations, and prepare necessary medications
- Review and provide comprehensive pharmacy services for all STAT orders in the ED and ICU, including monitoring the EPIC verification queue for clinical interventions
- Perform drug utilization reviews, monitor for drug interactions, support formulary integrity, participate in antibiotic stewardship, provide pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring, and evaluate potential adverse drug events
Required Qualifications
- BCCCP or BCEMP board certification required
- PGY2 residency in Critical Care or Emergency Medicine, OR 5+ years of clinical experience in an ICU and/or ED setting required
- Minimum 1 year ASHP-accredited residency, OR 4+ years of acute hospital experience required
- Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy license required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- EPIC experience required (extensive experience in lieu of EPIC may be considered at manager discretion)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Minimum 2 years of clinical pharmacist experience preferred
- Rounding experience, which may allow for consideration of day shift assignments (0600–1430)
- Availability across all days of the week given 24/7 staffing needs
