    Key Responsibilities
    • Compound and dispense prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care; review prescriptions for accuracy and determine required formulas and ingredients.
    • Provide counseling to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals when accepted.
    • Maintain established procedures for quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
    • Direct and instruct pharmacy workers, interns, and technicians engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals while maintaining required pharmacist-to-technician and pharmacist-to-intern ratios per state and federal law.
    • Manage third-party Rx systems, resolve third-party rejection problems promptly, and report prescription errors immediately in accordance with policy.
    • Ensure compliance of retail pharmacy services with all applicable state and federal regulations, including safety, security, and sanitation procedures.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Pharmacist license to practice in the State of California.
    • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Compliance with all current federal, state, and local laws, guidelines, and regulations governing retail pharmaceutical services.
    • Maintenance of required continuing education hours annually to ensure continued competence.
    • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of an organization.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience managing difficult or emotional customer situations with a focus on prompt, professional resolution and service improvement.
    • Familiarity with retail pharmacy operations including inventory management, loss prevention controls, and maximizing sales while controlling expenses.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for data compilation, record maintenance, and reporting.
