Job Summary
Pharmacist Inpatient (Specialty: PHARM IP) on days in a healthcare facility. This full-time position involves preparing and dispensing medications, monitoring patient drug therapies, and providing clinical services in a busy hospital environment. The role requires collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and efficient medication management.
Job Details
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The start date is 10/19/2026 and the end date is 01/18/2027. Shifts vary and may include times from 7AM to 8PM depending on operational needs.
- Required Qualifications: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharmacy) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree, pharmacy state licensure (LA license required), BLS via AHA required, ACLS via AHA preferred, at least 1 year of experience in hospital pharmacy, and the ability to obtain and maintain licensure and certifications as mandated.
- Preferred Qualifications: Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, experience treating ICU patients, cardiac catheterization lab, emergency department, behavioral health unit, and orthopedic surgery experience a plus.
- Responsibilities include dispensing drug orders, interpreting prescriptions, maintaining accurate medication records, compounding sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals, managing controlled substances, providing clinical consultations, and participating in quality improvement activities.
- Clinical duties involve medication therapy management, monitoring drug interactions, pharmacokinetics, renal dosing, anticoagulation management, and patient education.
- Additional information: The role includes supervision of pharmacy support personnel, adherence to dress code (navy blue scrubs), and participation in interdisciplinary rounds when assigned. No floating responsibilities, and no on-call requirement.
- The position is available for multiple shifts and can include 8, 10, or 12-hour shift options depending on the day.
