Weekday shifts are 19:30 - 05:30. Weekend shifts are 18:00 - 06:00. Weekends required: Yes. Skills preferred: Dosing (cardiac dosing), drug shortage management. No pharmacy technician coverage overnight; the pharmacist is the only staff member in inpatient pharmacy during shift hours. Pharmacists are not expected to attend code blues or rapid responses. In addition to order verification, the night shift pharmacist will work from a specific queue to address any clinical alerts (pharmacokinetic/renal dosing, etc.). Preferred experience includes community hospital and trauma level II experience. Expect to work some holidays. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census is around 60 with 114 beds total. The unit has interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Keep requests for time off to a minimum; any requests must be approved before starting. Floating may be required to another department as needed, but staff will not be required to care for patients outside of their competencies.
