Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law
- Verify the suitability of prescribed medicines
- Accurately maintain confidential patient records
- Advise patients on medication usage and potential reactions
- Provide consultations regarding medication storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions
- Offer patient services including smoking cessation and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on using medical devices
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Identify and communicate drug-related problems
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements of the Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board
