Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law
- Verify that prescribed medicines are suitable for patients
- Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients
- Advise patients about medications, including administration and potential reactions
- Provide consultation on storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Offer services such as smoking cessation and blood pressure management
- Educate on proper handling of medical devices
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions
- Supervise pharmacy staff
- Maintain pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory
- Identify and communicate patient drug-related problems with healthcare practitioners
Requirements of the Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board
