Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure that the supply of medicines is within the law
- Confirm the suitability of medicines prescribed to patients
- Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients
- Advise patients about medicines, including how to take them and potential reactions
- Provide consultation on medication storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Offer patient services such as smoking cessation and blood pressure measurement
- Educate patients on handling medical devices
- Compound medications for external or internal use
- Prepare sterile solutions following procedures
- Supervise pharmacy staff
- Maintain inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Identify and communicate patients' drug-related issues with healthcare practitioners
Requirements of the Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board
- Wisconsin RPh license
