This role requires proficiency in delivering pharmacy services, particularly in non-sterile compounding and managing on-call/overnight duties. Key Responsibilities of the Licensed Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
- Ensure the supply of medicines is within the law.
- Confirm medicines prescribed are suitable for patients.
- Accurately maintain confidential patient records.
- Advise patients on medication usage and answer queries.
- Provide consultations on medications, storage, dosage, and interactions.
- Offer patient services like smoking cessation and blood pressure checks.
- Educate on medical device handling.
- Compound medications for different uses.
- Prepare sterile solutions per procedures.
- Supervise pharmacy staff members.
- Maintain inventory of supplies.
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate with healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with healthcare practitioners.
Requirements of the Licensed Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board.
- Experience in non-sterile compounding preferred.
- Experience with on-call/overnight shifts.
