Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure the supply of medicines is within the law
- Ensure prescribed medicines are suitable for patients
- Maintain confidential records of all patients
- Advise patients about medicines, including usage and potential reactions
- Provide consultation on storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Offer services like smoking cessation, BP measurement, and cholesterol management
- Educate on handling medical devices
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions
- Supervise pharmacy staff
- Maintain pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory
- Identify and communicate drug-related issues
- Collaborate with healthcare practitioners
Requirements of the Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board
