Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure the supply of medicines is within the law and suitable for patients
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files
- Advise patients on medication usage, side effects, and answer questions
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications
- Offer services such as smoking cessation and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on medical device handling
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions
- Supervise pharmacy staff members
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Identify drug-related problems and communicate with healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists
Requirements of the Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board
